The Yellow Bittern
The Yellow Bittern is one of the smallest and most secretive herons found across wetlands, marshes, reed beds, and paddy fields in Asia. Known for its soft golden-brown plumage and remarkable camouflage, this shy bird often freezes with its neck pointed upward to blend perfectly with surrounding reeds when threatened. Although still found in parts of India and Southeast Asia, its population is gradually declining due to the rapid destruction of wetlands and freshwater habitat
